How do I change the ringtone?

Press the Menu button on the phone (Press the button on the phone that looks like a page with a folded over corner)
Choose option 4 (Ring Tone)
Highlight the line for which you want to change the ringtone and press Change e.g. to change the ringtone for line 2 choose Ext 2.
Highlight the ringtone you want and press Select.

How do I set Static IP Address?

On your Cisco phone, press the Menu button (the button that looks like a page with a folded over corner).
Press 9. You should be able to see the current IP address.
With 1 (WAN Connection Type) highlighted, press the edit soft key.
Press the Option soft key until Static IP displays, then press OK.
Scroll to Non-DHCP IP Address. Press Edit, then enter the static IP address of the phone using the asterisk () in place of periods. For example, the current IP address 192.168.1.34 would be 192168*1*34, then press OK.
Scroll to 9 (Non-DHCP Subnet Mask). Press edit, then enter the subnet mask of the phone, again using the asterisk in place of periods, then press OK.
Scroll to 10 (Non-DHCP Default Route). Press edit, then enter the default gateway of the phone using asterisks, then press OK.
Scroll to 11 (Non-DHCP DNS 1). Press edit then enter 8*8*8*8, then press OK.
Press save.

How do I transfer a call?

Transfer can either be attended or blind. An attended transfer allows you to talk to the person you are transferring the call to. A blind transfer means you will transfer the call without speaking the other party.

Attended Transfer:

Pick up the receiver.
Press the xfer button.
Put in the extension you wish to transfer to and press dial.
You can talk to the person who the extension belongs to.
Press xfer again to complete the transfer.

Blind Transfer

Pick up the reciever.
Press the right navigation key.
Press the bxfer button.
Enter the extension you wish to transfer to and press dial.
How do I change settings when voice sounds muffled
Only applicable to Cisco SPA5xx Series

Press the menu button on your phone (folded over page)
Scroll down and select preferences
Select deep bass
Press the option key until standard appears and select ok.

How do I clear the call history?

Press the menu button on your phone (folded over page)
Scroll down and select call history
Select redial list
Highlight the relevant entry and choose delete
Repeat for Answered Calls and Missed Calls

How do I disable/enable call waiting?

Press the menu button on your phone (folded over page)
Scroll down and select preferences
Scroll down and select CallWaiting
Choose Edit, y/n, OK, Save

How do I set the VLAN?

On your Cisco phone, press the Menu button (the button that looks like a page with a folded over corner).
Press 9. You should be able to see the current IP address.
Scroll to 16 (Enable VLAN). Press edit, then press y/n so the display reads Yes, then press OK.
Scroll to 17 (VLANID). Press edit, then enter the VLAN ID, then press OK.
Optionally enable PC Port VLAN tagging and set the apppriate VLAN tag, then press OK.
Press save.

How do I call forward?

Press the cfwd button
Enter the number you wish to forward to
Press dial and the forwarding will be activated.
To remove, simply press the cfwd button again.
Siemens Gigaset FAQ

I have no dial tone

The Gigaset works like a cellular phone. To call a number you should dial the number on the handset and then press the call or dial button.
The message indicator is flashing
The message indicator on the phone will flash in two situations:

  1. If there is a missed call. Click on the message key (the one with the envelope on it). The screen will show Calls List. Click OK and the light will turn off.
  2. If there is a new voicemail message. Click on the message key (the one with the envelope on it). The screen will show something like NetAM: IP1. It will also show a number in brackets which is the number of messages waiting. You will get an email from us if someone has left a voicemail message.

How do I Disable Missed Calls Indicator?

For the A580IP:

To disable this first press Menu
Then type 749 – 4762005 - 1
For the A510IP:

Enter the Menu

Incoming calls go straight to voicemail

The Gigaset may have lost its registration with us. Please press the blue button in the centre of the base station:

The handset should start ringing and should display a series of numbers - this is the IP address of the base station. If that says 0.0.0.0 then the base station has lost it's connection to the internet. Check your internet connection and also check that the base station is plugged into the network.
If the handset doesn't ring then the base station may require restarting. Disconnect the power for 1 minute and then reconnect it. Wait for 2 minutes and then try another call.
If the blue button is not illuminated then please check the power is connected.

How do I have a three-way call?

During an external call, press the Menu > External Call > Select. Press OK
Enter a number or copy it from the directory and press OK. The number will be dialled and you will be able to have a three-way call.

How do I link a handset to a base station?

For A580IP

On the handset select Menu > Settings > Handset > Register Handset. Press OK
Enter the system PIN (0000 by default). Press OK
Press and hold for 3 seconds the paging key on the base station (the square button in the middle of the base station)
For A510IP

On the handset select Menu > Settings > Registration > Register Handset. Press OK
Enter the system PIN (0000 by default). Press OK
Press and hold for 3 seconds the paging key on the base station
For C610IP

On the handset select Menu > Settings > Register Handset. Press OK and then press OK again.
Press and hold for 3 seconds the paging key on the base station

How do I un-link a handset from a base station

On the handset select Menu > Settings > Handset > Reset
Select reset to factory

How do I reset a base station?

On the handset select Menu > Settings > Base > Base Reset. Press OK
Enter the system PIN (0000 by default). Press OK
Press Ok to confirm the reset.

How do I provision a base station?

For A580IP

On the handset select Menu > Settings > Base > Telephony > Connection Assistant. Press OK.
Enter the system PIN (0000 by default). Press OK
Press Yes at the prompt: "Do you have an code for auto-configuration"
Enter the activation code provided by Conversant. Press OK.
Once the display shows "Saved" the phone has been configured.
For A510IP

On the handset select Menu > Settings > Telephony > Voip Wizard > Start IP Wizard > Yes
The phone displays "IP Wizard helps you to configure an IP..."
Click OK
Choose the appropriate device e.g. IP1
Do you have auto config code > yes
Enter the activation code provided by Conversant. Press OK.
Once the display shows "Saved" the phone has been configured.

How do I adjust the ringer?

For A580IP

On the handset select Menu > Settings > Audio Settings > Ringer Melody > External Calls. Press OK
Scroll down and select the preferred ringtone e.g. 01. Press OK
Press the back button until you are back at the main screen.

For A510IP

To adjust ringer volume:

On the handset, press up
Scroll to ringer volume
Set the volume
Press OK to save

To change ringer melody:

On the handset, press up
Scroll to ringtones (handset)
Select external calls
Choose desired melody
Press ok to save

For C610IP

To change ringer volume

On the handset, press up
Scroll to speaker
Set the volume
Press save

To change ringer melody:

On the handset, press the menu button
Select settings, then scroll to Audio Settings and press OK.
Scroll to Ringtones and select melodies.
Select the melody desired for internal and external calls.

How do I adjust the call volume?

One the handset, press up
Select call volume
Select earpiece or handsfree volume
Press up to select desired volume
Select save/ok to save options

How many parallel calls can the Gigaset handle?

For the gigaset range, there is two options for parallel calls:

Like a normal home phone. When a call comes in all phones will ring. Once the call is answered the line is occupied and a second call will get a busy tone or go to voicemail.
As separate lines. The Gigaset can have up to six lines on one base unit however only two can operate concurrently. When a call comes in two handsets will ring. If a handset is in use and a second call comes in the second handset will ring and can be answered.

How do I change the ringtone?

Press the Menu button on the phone
Choose option 3 (Settings)
Choose option 1 (Basic Settings)
Choose option 3 (Ring Tones)
Select the ring tone you want to use and press Save.

How do I set Static IP Address?

For T2xx phones

On your Yealink phone, press the Menu button and then select option 3 (settings)
Scroll to option 2 (Advanced settings) and put in the password: admin and select OK
Select Network, then WAN port and Static IP Client
Enter the IP, using the asterisk (*) to insert the periods.
Scroll to Subnet Mask, then enter the subnet mask of the phone, again using the asterisk to insert periods.
Scroll to Default Gateway, then enter the default gateway of the phone using asterisks.
Scroll to Pri. DNS and enter the DNS details
Press save.
For W52P

On the handset, press ok.
Select settings, then System Settings then Network
Enter the system PIN (0000) and press done
Press the right navigation key until Static appears for IP Address Type
Enter all valid values (IP address, Subnet Mask, Default Gateway, Primary DNS and Seconday DNS)
Press save.

How do I transfer a call?

Attended Call Transfer:

When on a call, press the TRAN button.
Put in the extension you want to transfer to and press OK
You can talk to the person who you are transferring the call to
Press TRAN to complete the transfer.
Blind Call Transfer:

When on a call, Press the TRAN button
Enter the extension or number you wish to transfer to and press TRAN again.

During any transfer, if you wish to get the original call back just press the up arrow until you are on the call you wish to continue and then select resume.

How do I change transfer using a one-touch key?

When using a side console or the DSS keys, it is possible to do a one-touch transfer using either the attended or blind transfer method. By default, this is set to use the blind transfer method. To change this, follow instructions below:

Log into the phones web interface
Select the features tab
Select the transfer section
Under the section "Transfer Mode Via Dsskey" select from the drop down the option you want
Click submit

How do I clear the call history?

Press the History softkey.
Select option.
Scroll down to delete all.
Select ok and then ok again.
All call history will be deleted.

How do I disable/enable call waiting?

Press the menu button on the Yealink
Scroll down and select option 2 (Features)
Scroll down and select Call Waiting
Press the right arrow, selecting disable or enable.
Press Save

How do I turn off call waiting tone?

Log into the phones web interface
Select the features tab
Select the Audio section
Under the "Call Waiting Tone" section, select the option you want from the drop down
Click confirm

How do I Call Forward from a Yealink phone?

Calls can be forwarded directly from the Yealink phone. They can be set-up as Static Forwarding - forwarding all calls based off the the rules you choose. Forwarding can also be done on a call by call basis via Dynamic Forwarding.

Static Forwarding:

Press the menu softkey
Select option 2 (Features)
Select option 1 (Call Forward)
Select the forwarding option you wish to set-up
Press the right arrow to enable and press Save
Enter the number you wish to forward calls to
Dynamic Forwarding:

When a call come into your phone, press the FWD soft-key
Enter the number you wish to forward to
Press the SEND soft-key

How do I set the VLAN?

On your Yealink phone, press the Menu button and then select option 3 (settings)
Scroll to option 2 (Advanced settings) and put in the password: admin and select OK
Select Network, then VLAN and then WAN Port
Press the right arrow so it displays as enable, then select save
Optionally enable PC Port VLAN tagging and set the appropriate VLAN tag, then press OK.
Press save.

How do I factory reset the phone?

To factory reset the phone, simply hold down the ok button for 10 seconds.
